I was going through some of my website bookmarks and stumbled upon this home tour I had saved dated October 2009. I think I had saved it because of the bookcase image, but was happy I found it again.
The home is located in Dallas and the owners are stylists at Neiman Marcus. I had to do my hometown of Dallas a favor and share this home because the city's design reputation will soon be ruined by HGTV's new show "Donna Decorates Dallas". Have you guys seen the previews? Yikes.

Same hometown, same fears about Donna Decorates Dallas (I saw the pilot! Eek!) This house it lovely. Slightly traditional, yet fresh! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove this home! I've definitely seen the bedroom before because I've craved the end tables ever since. So lovely...I'm sad to say that your lovely city has been marred already by Most Eligible Dallas. Have you seen this nonsense?
ReplyDeleteDonna Decorates Dallas?? Really? Ugh! So tired of all of these design shows. Sounds like Debbie Does Dallas. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few rooms of this house before and loved it. So much style packed into each room. The child's room in particular is fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images Bryn! My thoughts exactly on "Donna Decorates Dallas!" Definitely a more is more approach to design!! Surprised HGTV gave this show the green light. People much think us Texans are craaazzzyyyy!! At least I live in Houston :)
ReplyDeleteI love how all of the pictures in the sunroom are up on easels (?).

ReplyDeleteDonna Decorates Dallas... seriously what were the HGTV execs thinking?!?!? Yes It does look scary indeed, did you see the pilot episode, gag....
ReplyDeleteBryn-
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful! I love the nursery and the bookshelves. HGTV has really gone down hill except for Secrets of a Stylist. Bummer!
BRYN - you've seen this madness? I recently wrote something not so nice about her (DDD) on my blog and had regretted it ever since, because I was thinking the general public was actually taking to her…
ReplyDeleteOMG - train wreck on wheels. Im so sorry for your beloved home of Dallas. I dont know when that style of hers was ever in fashion, but Im telling you right now that one can only take so much of the Ed Hardy meets Kirklands before you want to vom.
I couldn't help but notice the 2 paintings in the first room; aren't they similar to your great grandmother Sykes' paintings? Pretty house!
