I'm working on a gallery wall in our family room (above the couch):
And I just ordered two beautiful pieces from Etsy.com.. I got them both for around $50! I LOVE Etsy.
This piece is original and by one of my favorite artists Gretchen Kelly:
This one is a print by artworm.. I love that it looks so inviting.
I've been playing around with watercolors lately and putting them in the booth. I really love painting and the connection it has to my past. Both my grandmother and great-grandmothers were artists.
I was completely shocked and ecstatic when I found out this piece sold:
I recently painted this magnolia blossom:
I really like painting on used recycled packing paper. Maybe I'm crazy, but I like knowing I'm using something that would normally end up in a landfill and making it beautiful.
I'm definitely not a professional, but I really love doing it and I think I'll make a piece for our pending gallery wall.
The magnolia piece is still available in our booth if anyone is interested (shameless plug) ;)
And on a side note, we're having CRAZY snow as is most of the east coast. Here is Charlotte from earlier this morning:
I snagged that parka in the $2.50 bin at Target. I think she was thankful I did!
One more thing! Today is the last day for the January giveaway! Click here to enter if you haven't already!

Brynn, I love your magnolia watercolor -I also save that packing paper ..for my daughter's "creations" - I may swipe some for my own! :) I really like seeing how you are building your rooms & can't wait to see how you transform your master...Thanks for sharing your creative-beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have the "art" gene!!! I am impressed. We had about 6 inches of snow last night here in Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteWow, your magnolia blossom is great! I love that nude, I will have to check out Gretchen Kelly. Thanks for posting!

ReplyDeleteYour magnolia painting looks great! I am excited to see your gallery wall. We are planning on doing the same above our sofa...I just can't decide what exactly I want to do.

Your art is so beautiful! I mean both the pieces you selected and what you created. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the art! I would love to know your strategy/approach to finding things (specifically, art) on etsy. I'm really overwhelmed by the vast number of things available, and I hate that that limits me from discovering some of the great stuff that's out there!
ReplyDeleteI think your art is beautiful...I love the idea of using {RE}Cycled items too :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a good answer to this - I don't really have a "trick" to Etsy. The majority of the time I find great things from the homepage (when they feature certain artists). Keep checking the home page and you'll be sure to find some great things!
ReplyDeleteThe art is beautiful love it!
ReplyDeletehey lady! thanks for stopping by ... too funny, because I actually MEANT to call Isabella so I could follow you on Twitter ... but a blog is even better!!! unfortunately, I didn't write it on my to-do list ...
ReplyDeletebeautiful artwork! you are a woman of many talents!
I really love that piece by Gretchen Kelly!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a gallery in my loft, so I look forward to seeing what yours is going to look like. I love those prints, too! Once you get all of the prints, are you going to draw a template before you hang them up?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! I'm so glad I kept it :) I can't wait to read in it when it gets warmer (right now it's too cold by the windows).
ReplyDeleteThe magnolia is amazing! I also love the painting by Gretchen Kelly. Can't wait to see the finished look!

What a talent you are. It really must run in the family. And I am so glad to see that amazing chair back in there. It still really is, right?
