An e-decorating client of mine has some beautiful dining room furniture but the dining room just needed a little help with the "wow" factor.
Here is the board I created for her:
You know how the saying goes "it's all in the details"? Well - it's true! I really played with pattern here in this room. The pattern on the light fixture I chose mimics the pattern on the back of the chairs. The small perforations in the ceramic vases mimic the small dots (pointillism if you will) on the rug.
On a side note - the large piece of art is new from Ballard.. it reminds me of a "poor mans" version (knock off) of an Amanda Talley piece. At first it made me a little sad and mad, but then I got over it. Not everyone can afford a large piece of original art.. it really is a luxury.

I can't wait to see the board and the room integrated! I think it will look amazing! I really like that soft blue/greyish colour, especially with the brown!
ReplyDeleteIts tough with original art...as artists we have to charge a lot to both make a living, and hold up a standard for what we are creating- but it makes it out of reach for so many people. It's always nice to get prints or drawings from artists which tend to be cheaper. I love the pointilism in the rug and how you repeated it with the beautiful vases! Great design! It adds so much personality to the room!
ReplyDeleteI have always been a fan of the Amanda Talley piece,,,but the less expensive one is great! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas - the art is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a gorgeous room.. love your additions to an already elegant space! x
ReplyDeleteLovely! It's just what their room needed! They must be so excited to get it done!
