Case in point, our current living room:
Awww, it's so sad and bare! I'm bringing in some of this fabric very soon, I cannot wait to show you!
Now I just need to figure out some great throw pillows. I always tell my clients to splurge a little on fabric for the throw pillows. You don't need too much yardage, and they can really transform the room.
Here is a brainstorm for this room...

But then again.... who really knows. When it comes to my own home, I'm indecisive.. and slow.
To help spark some pillow movement in my home, here are some great throw pillow combos:
[ Caitlin Wilson aka the pillow master ]
[ Samantha Pynn Inc ]

[ Sarah Richardson ]

(those Design Inc girls know how to work a throw pillow)
This next image is very special - this room was designed by my boss at the shop I work at 2x a week. She is SOOOO talented and I am so lucky to learn from her. I feel like my job is more of an apprenticeship than a job. She is a master at pillow arrangement.

ReplyDeleteBryn,
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. I have said to myself several times over the last months that I've been reading..that YOU are my style that I can't articulate on my own. So when I have a house...hopefully we get to do some e-decorating. Anyways, here is my question and it is relevant since you brought up the topic of pillows.
Can you explain to me why designers "karate chop" the pillows? I know this is a small thing. I just wonder if there is an explanation that makes sense to people in the know.
Honestly, I'm lost about it.
thanks!
Joanna

ReplyDeleteI agree...throw pillows might be one of my favorite accessories, but that is like choosing a favorite child, not sure it can be done. Anywho, I love them so much I have out 6 on our living room couch right now, may be a bit excessive, but I keep buying more :)
