I'm so happy to hear that many of you are as excited as I am about my black bedroom :)
I'm also sure you enjoy these dark interiors as much as I do, posted today over at desire to inspire:
At this point, I really have no idea which black I will do... but I know that Ralph Lauren has some pretty great ones (found at Home Depot). What I don't know is how much they are; I'm guessing pretty pricey!
I really like Black Truffles & Ebony.
House Beautiful recommends French Bulldog Black by Martha Stewart, but as you know Lowe's broke up with Martha and I am not sure if they will still mix it...
I wish I knew which black was in the Lonny image. Do you have a black you recommend?

Ralph Lauren Polo Green. It's not black, but it's pretty darn close. I picked it to match my soapstone counters, which appear black but are actually a very deep green. But, you've seen the pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteRL paint runs around $28 or so per gallon.
I bet Lowes will still mix it, since it's really just a Valspar color. Sherwin Williams will still mix their old Martha Stewart colors, and their partnership ended YEARS ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd as a French Bulldog owner, I highly encourage you to choose French Bulldog black ;o)
it's gonna look awesome. i can't wait. and unfortunately on my computer all of those blacks look the same. go with your gut. but also test some of it on your wall.
ReplyDeletewow...what decadent sexy porter dark images...i want to live there too
ReplyDeletei'm doing a black entryway! i'll have to share pics with you and on my blog. love this look.
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom was black in college! I loved it. If you have the little code for the martha stewart color I think Lowes can still mix the paint...they may even still have them at the paint desk! They do at my local Lowes.
ReplyDeleteI get RL color matched for Behr paint at Home Depot :-) helps with the price a bit
ReplyDeleteFYI: Martha is going to start selling paints at Home Depot next year.
ReplyDeleteThose black swatches all look exactly the same to me.
Mrs.Limestone - I know! I'm so excited! But her colors will be different than the ones at Lowe's, but I'm sure equally as awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually a white/light colored person... but I've been loving blacks and charcoals lately.
ReplyDeletejust blogged about a kitchen with black walls and ceiling. i cant wait to see pictures of your room!
ReplyDeleteI recently painted our exterior doors French Bulldog Black, so they will definitely mix it at Lowe's (at least in Valspar paint they will). It's a great black, and I also really love the idea of a black bedroom! (Coincidentally, my word verification for posting this comment is "quart". Even blogger has paint on the brain, apparently . . .)
ReplyDeleteHi Bryn - You can color match just about any paint color at Home Depot or Lowes. Or...buy low VOC paint, which can also be matched to any commercial color. I used low VOC paint in my bedroom, and I was able to sleep in it while the paint dried. No fumes!
ReplyDeleteOf course, if you want the fumes...I can't help you there. :)
