If you drive by our house, our blinds are usually open. (I have nothing to hide and we live in a safe neighborhood). When you look at our house, you can see into our office. I know no one really looks in there, but it's one of those rooms that I never really got to decorate, and I think it's time! Especially since my husband and I decided to hold off on the great room; we just don't have the money to spend on big key pieces, like a couch, right now. The office is great because we have so many great pieces of furniture in there already. It really only needs a fresh coat of paint and some little design elements. Here is my idea board for this room:
I am usually drawn to DARK colors, and when I saw this picture in nestie sparkle2006's bio, I thought what a great color for the office!
The color is a perfect mix of gray and dark espresso brown.
Also, how great is this chandelier from West Elm?
It's only $99, and since we have a gift card, it'd be "free"!
Last but not least, I found these absolutely stunning prints from etsy seller Alicia Bock from one of my favorite blogs, Life Is Beautiful.
They would look great matted like this:
I may even just lean it up against the wall like this.
So anyway, those are my ideas for the office! And of course, I always have to be budget friendly. Here is roughly the costs of things:
Paint - Approx. $20 a gallon
West Elm Lighting - FREE to us with use of gift card.
Large IKEA white mirror to hang behind desk - $99
Art, matted and framed: Approx $120
Very budget friendly for such a huge change! I'll keep you updated, as always :)

ReplyDeleteLooks great! I can't wait to see how it turns out! We are in the middle of redoing our office as well. Turning into my husband's space so won't be as pretty as yours I'm sure!
